Canada and the US so it is don't hold anything too tight okay obviously you want to do your research as well hey guys welcome back to my channel um if you're new here welcome my name is Anne I do videos and graduate school undergraduate school in current life because I live in the US and I am a professor of public health and welcome okay so we are talking about the differences between Evaluation essay writing service Canada and the US in terms of graduate school and what I want to make this video three tiers so one day I'm going to talk about one second I have my notes here if you go to research for these videos just so I'm not like giving you advice incorrect information okay.
So I want to talk about the quality of education I want to talk about job opportunities after your education and I want to talk about immigration issues because those are I mean if you are watching this that's what you care about really I mean I hope you care about the quality of your education I hope you just want to leave and Jerry I leave your country I hope care about what kind of education you get in the general consensus right between among students among employers around the world is that America the US has pretty much the best educational system like things valuable let me not see this it was valuable educational system okay let's do like let's do an exercise okay let's say we wanted let's say I give you three universities I give you University of Toronto which is the best university in Canada indexof Toronto I give you University of Oxford which is number one Europe and then Howard right let's say which would you pick like let's say forget about immigration forget about anything you see in Harvard Oxford Toronto University which which is the first one that you would say oh I'm gonna go tavern right let's say you're employing someone let's say you have three candidates one from Harvard one from Cambridge from Oxford one from Toronto however it just turns out so that is just what applies right in general because the u.s. education just has because I don't think it means that the education are like me what you're learning is better I really don't think so I just think the US has packaged themselves so well maybe their packaging is awesome so anywhere you go in the world if you have an American education it's just more valuable so so in that sense I'd say definitely u.s. wins that area of value okay so um tuition tuition differences so Canada is generally cheaper when comparing two equally runs universities obviously this their private universities where kind of schools in Canada Alex private schools in Canada may be more expensive then like public schools in America right but if you think if we want to compare two equally runs universities so in this case I would pick um McGill so McGill I think the Saudis McGill University is ranks you know pretty evenly on par with upending festivals in Pennsylvania um however every new Penn is almost three times the cost of McGill so for a master's degree in you Penn you're spending around fifty three thousand four hundred and sixty six dollars yeah II McGill you're spending around fifteen thousand six hundred and thirty seven dollars so I mean I mean you can cost over three times McGill and yeah and they're pretty Iran it's pretty evenly all right so again about the packaging if you go anywhere and you say oh I went to UPenn for school people are gonna like oh nice but if you say McGill you probably don't even know what McGill University is so that's a big package in America is really good at packaging that's just what it is very good okay so testing so the u.s. mostly pretty much every graduate program in the u.s. requires that you take the GRE obviously that is changing right a lot of schools delivery some programs that require the GRE anymore but a lot of schools still require most schools still require to GRE but in kind of that you don't really require the GRE anymore like at all really some schools do but the u.s. requires more stuff like just getting into school in the u.s. it's just much much more harder it's just harder then getting into Sweden Canada you have to write you have to write the cherry and the chain is really hard I wanna tell you guys I wrote the cherry two times because the first time I failed and then the second time I get better so it's pretty hard okay and then so these are all the things to kind of consider before you start your program alright so in Canada they generally generally require that you have a master's degree before going to a PhD in the US it doesn't matter you can go from your bachelor's degree to a PhD you can skip your masters altogether it doesn't matter so that's one bit that's my difference if you're just graduating from your undergrad right now and you're like no I want to do a PhD you would probably get in a u.s. institution easier than the chameleon institution cuz in kind of that they always want you to have a master's at least what some of the top universities in the u.s. to Harvard MIT Stanford Princeton you you guys know that the u.s. just has more haha like more grits or name right we're talking the vs. in Canada University of Toronto UBC McGill you probably know any of those but those are really good universities as well so keep all those keep all that in mind okay okay so something is also consider isn't whether you're whether in Canada it's brutal a brutal cold cold cold insane weather in the US so if you go to this California Texas Florida I mean anyway there's awesome if you're coming from a place like Africa you know it's much warmer so moving from it is like Nigeria to Canada it's depressing it's depressing so just keep that in mind as you make that decision it's really it's gonna be huge change for you if you're coming from a place like Nigeria and then you go to I mean you come to Texas for example it's not a huge orbit change like especially Houston Houston's humaid Houston's just like Legos that you see whether it's very similar to Legos whether so that's you know something to keep in mind so work permits what how about after you after you graduate what happens after you gradually that's what a lot of people care about like okay I've come to school what are the differences to US Canada by far has been easier better and easier immigration pathways like has a an easier pathway to permanent residence or citizenship than the u.s. does obviously because Canada you guys probably know but Canada is recruiting a lot of people to come into their country to increase their workforce so so getting a work permit after you graduate is much easier so for example what kind of the doors I think it's called a post work-study permit in Canada so if you visit your masters last two years you get a work permit to two years after your master's so your work permit mirrors number here is your work permit is granted mirror the number of years you spent schooling in Canada so but most people I mean most people within those two years we get a permanent residency you can apply and get from their residency you can never try that in America because America is so strict so when you graduate in America you have either your opt you get an opt visa which lasts like one year then you get um h-1b it's mommy not everyone gets an h-1b it's kind of at the lottery so not everyone gets it and you have 30 days if you're not getting an h-1b visa if you know granted you have 30 days to leave the u.s. is it 30 or 60 correct me in the comments it is 30 or 60 but they do not play around with that stuff so it's just post work post study situations it's just easier in kind of honestly if you if you don't care about if you just want to make your country and go somewhere else and have an easier path to citizenship or permanent residency then definitely Canada I mean I've been in the u.s. almost 11 years now and I got my green card like two years ago but if I were in Canada I would be Canadian citizen right now so that's just you know to show a my friend who went to Canada I think in 2017 2018 2017 she's already a citizen and I'm still here struggling with my green card I mean I'm grateful but you know that's just the difference it's much easier in Canada than in the US but I would say though I would say though that us if you just keep your head down and just hope for the best you get there I mean think about it what is it rush to get citizenship yeah I mean I'll get my citizenship in we're in twenty twenty twenty my citizenship in 2022 2023 and it's like well as three years from now does it matter like so what you know so just depends on what like it just depends on what matters to you really okay so another points to keep in mind is that kind of that has way more taxes so remember when if when I got my paycheck my first paycheck of working as a professor of Public Health I saw my paycheck and I'm like what the heck because cuz obviously this toxin is huge in the US and in fact in Canada but kind of nice even worse so kinetic taxes are not a joke well the good thing that Canada really taxing in Canada is that you get three health care so but in the u.s. you have to pay for health care so I don't know it kind of balances out somehow I get so will job opportunities in Canada versus the u.s. the u.s. blows kind of out of the park with job opportunities no just no comparison let's just leave it at that no comparison the u.s. is a Hall of technology the Hall of Science scientific research the hub of entrepreneurship I mean I mean wow the u.s. is awesome in that regard right and but also there's so many people competing for those jobs versus in Canada where there's way less job opportunities but they're way more way less people also so I don't know you kind of sort of cancels out again because if there are less people competing for Less jobs then it's the same thing as more people come competing for more jobs right so it can't cancel up again but the US think they hobbit there's just so much opportunity like you're surrounded the brightest and most brilliant minds and it's just an incubator for growth you it like US companies I think about all this all but Facebook Google what else Microsoft all that stuff is only doing it's concentrated I mean you might be working around those brilliant minds amazing so yes it's just a huge beta for for good and so yeah to think I mean that's something to consider posts before you make your choice okay so Canada's immigration policy has played a huge role in making the student like in making the transition from student to worker much easier than the u.s. many of you know that already so but I would say Canada and you guys still be better than UK because the UK manager they're not playing around like you have to go back to your country after school they do not joke around so still I would still to Canada or the US over the UK yes the DOS um those are my it's what the difference is to keep in mind when you are considering Canada this is the u.s. obviously things are more much more accelerated in Canada like a path to citizenship is much more accelerated and much easier if you are an expert or professional in your field versus the US which is way more competitive and much slower then Canada so so yeah so think about that if you just want to leave leave your country like Nigeria for example just one of the things you yet you don't care about the quality of education you don't you definitely don't care about any of this stuff you just want to get out and get to a school somewhere then definitely be coming up if you care about if you're thinking more long term like oh what university don't wanna go even in fact you can even come to the US for your masters or PhD and apply for work in Canada and you would be wait you'll probably be more competitive than Canadians since you have a u.s. degree so so just yeah so just think about that another option Luke was my friend that I told you guys has the citizenship know she has a Canadian passport she can come to the US without a visa so like you know it's like what really what's really better though really what's better we don't know you really cannot pick what's better because um I don't I can't just I mean now I have a green card so I can go in and out USA I want but but my friend who went to Canada yeah after me seven years after me now has a Canadian passport I pushed and she can also come in and out of the US like she wants because she's a Canadian now so really there's really no sure way to this stuff really there's really no show we you just have to trust your thoughts and go for it okay and oh we bail all will be well hear me I am so excited everybody look you guys I'm so happy and so grateful that you keep coming back keep sharing this video this is awesome it's awesome reaching each other this is us helping each other this is not my channel this is our channel so comments in the comment section on what you think help others too but this is just a platform for us to talk about these things.
