T-28.I.1. A miracle does nothing. 2 All it does is undo. 3And thus he undoes the interference with what has been done. 4 It doesn't add, it just subtracts. 5 And what he takes away is long gone, but keeping it in memory seems to have immediate effects. 6 This world ended a long time

7 The thoughts that caused it are no longer in the mind that he thought about them and loved them for a time. 8But the miracle shows that the past is gone, and what is really gone has no effect. 9 Remembering the cause may lead to the illusion of its presence, but not the effects.

T-28.I.2. All the consequences of guilt are no longer here. 2For the guilt is over. 3Its effects are gone, they remain without cause. 4Why would you hold on to it in memory if you did not desire its effects? 5 Remembering is as selective as perception because it is its past tense. 6 It is the perception of the past as if it were happening now and still visible. 7 Memory, like perception, is an ability you have created to replace what God has given you in your creation. 8 And like all the things you have made, it can be used for another purpose and be a means to something else. 9 Can be used to heal instead of damage if desired.

T-28.I.3. Nothing that is used for healing represents an effort to do anything. 2 It is a recognition that you have no needs, which means that something must be done. 3 It is a non-selective memory that is not used to interfere with the truth. a course in miracles 4 Everything that the Holy Spirit can use to heal has been given to you, without the content or purpose for which they were created. 5 They are just skills without application. 6 They are waiting to be used. 7 They have no determination or goal.

T-28.I.4. The Holy Spirit can actually use memory because God Himself is there. 2 However, this is not a memory of past events, but only of the present state. 3 You have been so accustomed to believing that memory only contains the past that it is difficult for you to realize that it is an ability that you can remember now. 4The limitations on remembering what the world imposes on you are as vast as those you allow the world to impose on you. 5 There is no association of memory with the past. 6 If you want to have it there, here it is. 7But only your desire made the connection, and only you sustained it for a time when the guilt still seems to linger.

T-28.I.5. The use of memory by the Holy Spirit is quite different from time. 2 He's not trying to use it as a means to preserve the past, but as a way to let it go. 3 Memory stores the received message and does what it is assigned to do. 4 Does not write a message, nor does it specify what it is for. 5Like the body, it has no purpose in itself. 6 And if it seems to you to serve to preserve ancient hatreds, and to give you pictures of the injustices and pains that you have saved yourselves, then you wished it were your message and that it is. 7 Dedicated to its vaults, the history of the entire past of the body is hidden there. 8 All the strange associations formed to keep the past alive, the present dead, are stored in it, waiting for your command to be brought to you and revived. 9 And so its effects seem magnified by time, which has removed its cause.
