According to documents, emails and interviews, Israeli officials knew about the Hamas attack plan on Israel a year before it happened. However, representatives of the Israeli army and intelligence did not believe that this plan was real, because it was too ambitious and complicated for Hamas militants.
The document, which the Israeli authorities called the "Wall of Jericho", describes the invasion of Israeli territories point by point. The document contains 40 pages in total, which described in detail the attack, including the destruction of fortifications around the Gaza Strip, the capture of Israeli cities and the storming of key military bases.
According to the newspaper, Hamas followed this plan "with amazing precision." The document describes the rocket fire at the beginning of the attack, the work of drones to disable surveillance cameras, the work of automatic machine guns along the border, as well as the subsequent mass invasion of militants into Israel by paragliding, motorcycles and on foot.
Israeli officials now privately admit that if the military had taken the warnings seriously and redirected reinforcements to the south, Israel could have mitigated the effects of the attacks, or perhaps even prevented them.
