I had undergone total knee replacement surgery when I was 58 years of age, and then once again when I was 60 years old. It occurred to both of my knees approximately 12 years earlier. I began to play competitive basketball when I was ten years of age, and I sustained plenty of damage to my knees throughout the years that required several surgeries, along with lots of agony.
The agony was almost intolerable
I have the desire to go on playing the game, but my range of motion was limited. Moreover, the agony was virtually intolerable. I was informed by the physicians that I would not be able to take part in competitive basketball with a couple of new knees. Nevertheless, I was determined to stage a successful recovery. The good thing is that I was capable of doing that, and I continue to play basketball even though I am more than 70 years of age right now. I, Craig Raucher, is competing with guys who are much younger than me.
